The people i work with don't normally say they're stressed

In fact on the outside it can look like everything is ok.

They are working.

Getting things done.

Looking after other people.

People rely on them.

But underneath, they are feeling:

  • constantly switched on

  • exhausted but unable to switch off

  • overthinking everything

  • second guessing decisions

  • struggling to concentrate

  • feeling overwhelmed by little things

  • more irritable than they'd like

  • struggling with sleep

  • noticing changes in breathing

  • feeling tense, restless or constantly on edge

When you ask how they are, they often say: "i'm fine, just busy."

They are used to holding it together

Pushing through

Getting things done.

Until eventually something starts to change.

I know this because i've been there too

When i knew i needed support, i had no idea where to go, who to ask for support, so i pieced together information to support myself.

I wish i'd know then what i know now about the way the nervous system works.

The nervous system is designed to be flexible.

It can handle times where we go, take action and get to where we want to be.

But it also needs opportunities for rest and recovery.

It needs flexibility between the two.

When we push through, keep going and over-ride our bodies signals, it can be harder to move into recovery mode. It says switched on, high alert, ready for the next thing.

You might still be funtioning.

Still working.

Still getting everything done.

But underneath your body is struggling to Switch off.

Overtime that can leave you feeling exhausted.

For me this was burnout, my body couldn't keep going the same way.

The good news is so you don't have to wait until burnout to get support.

Perhaps you're notcing that you're:

*Feeling "wired but tired."

*Automatically say: "i'm fine, just busy," (even though you are exhausted)

*More irritable than normal

*Snapping at loved ones (although you didn't mean to.)

*Feeling tense, restless and on edge

*Struggling to concetratrate or be as productive as you like.

*Struggling to sleep or waking up in the night.

You might not even be sure, what's wrong. And thats okay.

You don't need to know whats wrong or what you need before asking for support.

You don't need to work this out on your own.

I work 1:1 with people who feel overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted or like they can't keep up with life.

Using breath, body based practices we work together over time to understand what's happening and what needs to chance.

The aim isn't to give you another thing to add into your to-do list.

It's to help you feel moe present, think more in control when life gets busy.
